Paeonia Lactiflora is a perennial herb belonging to the Paeonia of the Ranunculaceae. The main active component Paeoniflorin enables it to exhibit anti-inflammatory and whitening effects.

Paeoniflorin can inhibit the LPS-induced secretion of NO, TNF-α, IL-6 and the expression of COX-2 in Raw264.7 cells.
Whitening:
In relatively high concentration range, Paeoniflorin has a dose-dependent inhibitory effect on the proliferation of normal human epidermal melanocytes.
